Oburu Oginga Goes Home: Siaya Senator Leaves Nairobi Hospital Days After 83rd Birthday

ODM leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga has been discharged from Nairobi Hospital, days after photographs of him celebrating his 83rd birthday in hospital were shared.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Oginga has been discharged from Nairobi Hospital.

The Siaya Senator was last seen in public on October 15, when photographs of him celebrating his 83rd birthday in hospital were shared.

His discharge follows weeks of rumours about his health and several public meetings he missed, including the handover of the Raila Odinga Mausoleum in Bondo on October 7. On October 13, ODM Director of Communications Phillip Etale said the party leader was resting and recuperating after several weeks of treatment abroad and in Kenya. Etale also asked Kenyans to stop spreading false information and to give him time to recover fully.

The party has not disclosed what he was treated for.

What Next

Oburu is expected to continue resting as he recovers. In earlier statements, his family and the party said he would return to active public life after consulting his doctors. Don Sami Live will bring you more as details emerge.
